Gaelscoil Dara is an all-Irish school located on the Ballyloughane Road in Renmore. It offers children the option of a comprehensive and holistic primary education through the medium of the Irish language. Scoil Chaitriona

Third Level Education

ATU Galway City

Atlantic Technological Univerity (ATU) is a multi-campus technological university in the west and northwest of Ireland. Its Galway City Campus is located on the Dublin Road, to the north of Renmore. Formerly home to the Galway-Mayo Institute of Technology (GMIT), the site was originally established as the Regional Technical College (RTC) in 1972.

The Galway City Campus offers a wide range of undergraduate and postgraduate courses across various areas of study.

Renmore Community Centre

Located between the Scout Den and the Kingfisher Club on Renmore Avenue, this facility is operated by Galway City Council. It includes a main hall and a practice hall, as well as changing rooms and shower facilities. It can be used for activities such as basketball, indoor soccer, martial arts, badminton, and parent and toddler groups, among others. The halls are available to book, for a fee, via the website.

Aras Naofa

Aras Naofa is a community facility located adjacent to the Church of St Oliver Plunkett. Built on a site donated by Bon Secours Hospital, it is the result of a major community initiative by a number of locals who formed a committee and raised substantial funds. Construction commenced in 2005 and the facility opened in August 2006. Further fundraising was planned as a large debt remained but Galway City Council gave €100,000 in recognition of the community aspect of the project.

Aras Naofa offers meeting facilities, including a kitchenette area where teas and coffee can be served. It is best know as a community funeral home and in this role has proven invaluable to bereaved families. Funerals are arranged in cooperation with funeral directors but other events can be booked by phoning 087 2500575.

Renmore Scout Den

Renmore Scout Den is home to 13th Galway Scouts, established in 1977 and one of the largest scout groups in Galway County. When not in use for scouting activities, the venue is available for booking by other local groups.

Renmore A.F.C.

Renmore A.F.C. Soccer Club was founded in 1973. Since then, the club has gone from strength to strength, becoming one of the main local clubs in Galway. Renmore AFC has a primary objective to provide a forum for the young people of Renmore and its environs to safely and positively express themselves and improve themselves through the medium of soccer.

Liam Mellows GAA Club

Liam Mellows Hurling Club was formed in Galway City in 1933. With over 330 members, ranging in age from eight to eighty, Liam Mellows has a proud and successful history. As the only city-based senior club, they have played a pivotal role in the development of Gaelic Games in Galway down through the years. In recent years with the ‘Galway City Heart of Hurling’ initiative they continue to promote and nurture hurling throughout the city.

Irish Countrywomen’s Association (ICA)

The first formal meeting of the Renmore Guild of the ICA was held in April 1976.
