Renmore A.F.C. Renmore A.F.C. Soccer Club was founded in 1973. Since that year, Renmore AFC has gone from strength to strength and has become one of the main local clubs in Galway. Renmore AFC has a primary objective to provide a forum for the young people of Renmore and its environs to safely and positively express themselves and improve themselves through the medium of soccer. St James GAA St James GAA Club is based in Renmore, Mervue, Ballybane and Good Shepherd Parishes on the East Side of Galway City. Its bordered by the Fr.Griffin’s/Éire Óg and Oranmore-Maree GAA Clubs. They have two clubhouses; Renmore & Mervue. Liam Mellows GAA Club Liam Mellows Hurling Club was formed in Galway City in 1933. With over 330 members, ranging in age from eight to eighty, Liam Mellows has a proud and successful history. As the only city based senior club they have played a pivotal role in the development of Gaelic Games in Galway down through the years. In recent years with the ‘Galway City Heart of Hurling’ initiative they continue to promote and nurture hurling throughout the city. St Columba’s Hurling Club St Columba’s Hurling Club was set up in 2001. The club currently field adult teams at Junior B and Junior C levels and for the first time this year Juvenile teams at U10, U12, U14 and U16. St Columba’s Juvenile teams have played over 40 competitive matches this year up to the end of October 2007. St Columba’s catchment area is contained within the three parishes of Ballybane, Mervue and Renmore.
